The West Baton Rouge Senior Spirit is sponsoring a two-night trip to north Louisiana from May 31 to June 2.

The cost of the trip is $230, which includes transportation, six meals, overnight accommodations and admissions.

The trip will feature tours of the 8th Air Force Museum at Barksdale Air Force Base, American Rose Gardens, the Logan Mansion, a visit to the former home of the Louisiana Hayride and much more.

Wellness Day

Port Allen and Louisiana Urgent Care invite the public to help promote healthy lifestyles in the community by attending “Health Fair and Wellness Day” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The event at the Port Allen Community Center, 749 N. Jefferson Ave., will feature blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings, weight and body mass index readings, body fat tests and much more.

Puppet show

The West Baton Rouge Parish Library invites the public to “Never Say UGH to a Bug,” a musical puppet show, presented by the West Baton Rouge Puppet Theatre Company from 6:30 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

The show is free, but reservations are required.

Boats needed

Plaquemine is asking all local boaters to get involved in the Bayou Plaquemine cleanup Saturday.

City officials are looking for people who own boats, equipped with nets, to help pick up litter along Bayou Plaquemine.

The cleanup will begin at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park Pavilion at 8 a.m.

Job fair

The Arc-Iberville will host a job fair Thursday to fill 12 personal care attendant positions.

The job fair will be at The Arc Building, 24615 J. Gerald Berret Blvd., Plaquemine.

The Arc intends to expedite the application process of all qualified individuals who arrive between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. by accepting applications and conducting interviews the same day.

Pastalaya fundraiser

The Iberville Math, Science and Arts Academy East is hosting a pastalaya fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday to benefit end-of-the-year school activities, including graduation.

Tickets are $6 each and may be purchased at the front office of the school between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. prior to the event.

Health fair

A free community health fair will take place from 9 a.m. until noon Saturday at the East Iberville School auditorium, 3275 La. 75, St. Gabriel.

Health information and screenings will be offered.
