A 25-year-old Baton Rouge man shot multiple times Wednesday morning died of his wounds on Friday, the same day homicide detectives arrested the man they believe responsible for the killing, the Baton Rouge Police Department reported.

Police believe Erin Gross, 18, 1420 Cardinal St., shot Christopher King, 25, 1538 Snipe St., while King was driving his car in the 1300 block of Oriole Street about 4:20 a.m., causing King to crash into a house, an affidavit of probable cause says.

Gross and King had been in an argument, the affidavit says.

Detectives were notified that King had died about 5 p.m. on Friday, the affidavit says.

Gross was identified by witnesses through a photographic lineup.

Gross was booked into Parish Prison Friday on a count of second-degree murder, booking records show.
