More than 3,000 Explorers, representing 80 law enforcement agencies from across the country, met in Gatlinburg, Tenn., for the 2012 Winterfest Competition in February.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office brought 13 Explorers and six advisers. Those attending the conference were Deputy Darryl Arceneaux, senior adviser; Deputy Patrick Bedwell; Deputy Robbie Ellis; Deputy Gene Higginbotham; Deputy Tate Magee; and Deputy Melissa Parent.
Explorers attending were Jonathan Barksdale, Chase Carrier, Mason Gray, Brynne Harrison, Austin Kirkes, Dalton Kirkes, Tanner Mansur, Austin Millette, Micah Rider, Jordan Santanan, Scott Treadway, Drew Wascom and Samantha Williams.
Wascom won first place in the tactical fitness challenge while the team placed 19th in felony traffic stops, 21st in DUI traffic stops and 21st in search warrants.
