Jones| Westside bureau Jan. 31, 2013 Comments West Baton Rouge Parish School Superintendent David Corona asks that anyone interested in participating in Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area’s “Lunch and Learn” informational program may do so by contacting him at email@example.com. Corona, who serves on the board of the organization, said “Lunch and Learn” will be held in late February or early March. At the sessions, citizens have lunch and receive specific information regarding all phases of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Alzheimer’s Services covers a 10-parish area, including West Baton Rouge. Anyone with Alzheimer’s or who is a relative or caregiver of someone with Alzheimer’s may attend the luncheon sessions. Free concert The public is invited to the Pointe Coupee Parish Historical Society’s “Pelican Chamber Music” free concert series in the Julien Poydras Museum and Arts Center auditorium. The first concert will take place at 3 p.m. Feb. 17. Nichols Camereta will be the featured performer. The next concert in the series will be held at 3 p.m. March 17. Adoption Day Pet Adoption Day will be held on the second Saturday of each month at the Wal-Mart parking lot in New Roads from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Small fees apply when adopting pets. Lego Club The West Baton Rouge Parish Library invites children ages 3 years old and older to join its Lego Club for creative fun. Museum meeting The Iberville Museum Association invites its members and the public to attend its annual meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Randy W. Peterson, author of the book “Giants on the River,” will offer a short presentation on the history of the petrochemical industry along the lower Mississippi River. Cliff “Chackie” LeGrange, one of the authors of “Bayou Pigeon — Louisiana Spirit of the Atchafalaya” also will be at the event. Both authors will be selling and autographing their books. There will be refreshments and door prizes.
