Tribute to troops planned
Tickets are on sale for “A Musical Tribute For Our Troops” set for Jan. 3 at the Gonzales Civic Center, organizer Brent Gautreau said.
Gautreau, a U.S. Army veteran of Desert Storm and commander of the Gonzales Veterans of Foreign Wars chapter, said the event is a fundraiser to provide supplies to members of the Louisiana Army National Guard’s Gonzales-based 922nd Horizontal Engineer Company, 769th Engineer Battalion, on its next deployment.
The USO-style show, which is sponsored by the newly formed Ascension Veterans Association, will feature performances by Center Stage Performing Arts Academy and music Ned Fassulo and the Fabulous Big Band.
The concert, which starts at 6:30 p.m., will also include an auction.
Tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling Gautreau at (225) 485-7875 or emailing, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Sponsorships are also available, he said.
Tickets will not be sold at the door, but will be available until show time, Gautreau said.
