The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for volunteer shoppers for its annual Christmas Crusade for Children shopping night.
Volunteers are needed to shop to fill Christmas lists for hundreds of area children who wouldn’t have Christmas, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Office said.
For more than 10 years, Sheriff Jeff Wiley has organized the toy drive, which helps children through age 12.
The sheriff raises the money for the toys and volunteers serve as elves running through the Gonzales Wal-Mart purchasing the items.
The shopping night begins at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Donations are being accepted.
