The Pointe Coupee Historical Society will host a Halloween Spooky Double-Feature costumed affair Friday as part of its Last Friday Louisiana Film Series at the Poydras Center, 500 W. Main St., New Roads.
The historical society will screen “Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte,” starring Bette Davis, and “The Alligator People,” with Lon Chaney and Beverly Garland.
“Hush... Hush” is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and “The Alligator People” will immediately follow about 9:30 p.m.
The movies are free and open to the public.
Fresh popcorn, cold drinks and Halloween candy will be available for purchase.
Prizes will be awarded to moviegoers dressed in their spookiest attire. Costumes are encouraged, but not required.
Breast cancer march
Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church is asking anyone seeking to support, admire and honor breast cancer survivors to come out and participate in its Breast Cancer Awareness March at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Guest speakers, food and free educational materials will be available. Attendees are encouraged to wear pink shirts.

Meet and greet
The West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce is joining with Guaranty Broadcasting TALK 107.3 in presenting two candidate “Meet and Greet” events.
Because of the large number of candidates on the Nov. 6 ballot, the events have been broken down into two nights and two locations.
The Addis and Brusly candidate night is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday at the Addis Community Center. Port Allen’s candidate night is at 6 p.m. Nov. 1 in the Port Allen Community Center.
All the candidates running in upcoming elections for mayor, town or city council, Public Service Commission and Supreme Court have been invited to attend.
The events are free and open to the public.
Shipwreck screening
The West Baton Rouge Museum will screen the documentary “Underwater Archeology of the Mardi Gras Shipwreck” at noon Wednesday as part of its Lunchtime Lecture series.

Halloween fun
Halloween stories, songs and pumpkin games, crafts and investigations are planned for preschoolers at the West Baton Rouge Parish Library during its “Pumpkin Grins, Giggles & Surprises” event at 10 a.m. Saturday.
The event will be followed by the library’s Trick-or-Treat Lego party at 1:30 p.m.

Center closure
The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Disaster Recovery Center for Pointe Coupee Parish is scheduled to close at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Although the center will shut down, people with Hurricane Isaac damage claims may contact FEMA online at www.disasterassistance.gov or via Web-enabled phone at m.fema.gov.
