TripAdvisor, of Newton, Mass., announced last week the winners of its 2012 Travelers’ Choice Wine Destinations awards. Award winners were selected on their popularity as wine destinations based upon reviews by travelers, local winery opinions, restaurant recommendations, attractions and accommodations. So if you’re interested in a fall harvest getaway, consider California, Colorado, New York, Oregon or Washington. Making the 10th slot on the list is Plymouth, Calif., with Palisade, Colo., in the No. 9 position. Walla Walla, Wash.; Temecula Valley, Calif.; and Paso Nobles, Calif., round out the next slots. Nos. 5 and 4 are Long Island and Finger Lakes, N.Y. Willamette Valley, Ore., is No. 3, Napa Valley is No. 2, and Sonoma Calif., is the No. 1 choice wine destination.
