Pat Shingleton for Feb. 11, 2012
As the weatherman at WIIC-TV, later changed to WPXI-TV, in Pittsburgh, I received criticism for “counting” the sunless days.
From the end of December through the end of February, I noted 67 days without sunshine. Due to this lack, Seasonal Affective Disorder involves episodes of depression that increases in late autumn and into winter. Symptoms can include increased appetite, daytime sleepiness, less energy, less concentration, unhappiness and irritability.
The forecast in my old hometown this weekend calls for clouds, snow and 25 degrees.
Fastcast: Supercold.
